Details on a Crown

Dental crowns are permanent, cemented restorations that are used to cover and protect a tooth. They are available in tooth-colored porcelain or metal, depending on the need and location of the affected tooth. Crowns are excellent in providing structural support for compromised teeth as a result of heavy decay or fractures.

Details on a Bridge

If you have gaps between your teeth as a result of teeth that have fallen or have been removed, then getting treated with dental bridges at the Lafayette Dental Group will be an ideal solution. A dental bridge consists of two dental crowns located on either side of a gap while a false tooth sits in the middle. In order to support the firmness of the bridge, the Lafayette Dental Group may use natural teeth, implants or any other suitable tool. Once the dentists at Lafayette Dental Group decide on treating you with dental bridges, the process will kick off with the filing down of the adjacent teeth so that the crowns can be placed conveniently. Thereafter, impressions of your teeth will be taken so that the necessary crowns can be created. Then the false tooth will be bonded on the completed crowns. On your second visit, the dental bridge will placed into your mouth and the crowns will be firmly cemented.

I have been one of Dr. Richardson’s patients since he came to Norwich. I have always been impressed by his competence and professionalism. I recommend him to all of my friends, and I would recommend him to you.
